I loved that coloured... sorry black dude in the first series called Hughes.... right teachers pet... whenever a question was asked he was at the back with his arm in the air shouting `Oooooh me Sir... please me Sir... " he would have lasted precisely a week in our school before being beaten within an inch of his life and left on a coat hook for collection...

I used to go out with Tina Mahon who played Ronnie Birtles when I was a kid. It felt like going out with a Hollywood superstar the amount of attention we got when going to the wimpy for a date.

I once headbutted the bloke who played Gonch.

Only the sort of headbutt that gets you sent off playing football, but it still counts.

Ginger tosser with his stupid money-making schemes...

Quality little theme tune as well.

Did it always have the comic book type into with the Sausage being plunged towards a face in the canteen, or did this change when it began to become average as we all got older?

I used to massively fancy 'Justine Dean' played by Rachel Victoria Roberts. Anyone remember her? Gonch and Ziggy era was my favourite time.

I never knew she was the girl who said "Grand Pricks" on live TV instead of "Grand Prix".
